Creative Genius

One of my mentors in creativity is Elizabeth Gilbert. She wrote ‘Eat, Pray, Love’. I’ve never read and probably never will. And I think I fell asleep when watching the film. We’ve never met, but I’d like to think that one day we will.

Liz wasn’t really on my radar until a friend of mine told me to check out her Ted Talk. Her presentation liberated me. I really mean that. And I could probably spend a good hour telling you what she said and highlight the stories that resonated with me, but then I wouldn’t be keeping my commitment to “showing” instead of “telling”. So, please set 20 minutes aside to watch this, because it will free you and your mind.

P.S. She has a book on creativity titled Big Magic. An equally freeing book. A bit woo-woo and spiritual in places and a little sweary too, but I’m pretty certain the core thoughts will expand your view on creativity.
