Remember

Before we get into business, take a beat and think about yourself one year ago. And what about five years ago? And ten? Now think about your right now. Take a moment to remember how far you’ve come.

This, friend, is a big deal. It’s really easy to get caught up in the business of creating art that not only its beauty can get lost, but also its origins. So take time to bring to remembrance the reason behind your starting.

Was it for the love of it?

Was it to push out pain?

Was it to understand yourself better?

Was it to understand the world around you better?

Was it because you can do nothing else?

Remind yourself to remember…

ESPECIALLY when you’ve hit a roadblock.

ESPECIALLY when you don’t believe in your abilities.

ESPECIALLY when you can’t see an end to the work.I bet you’ve grown.

I bet you’re better at your art than you used to be.

I bet you’re further on.

I bet it’s worth celebrating.

So, friend, make a considered effort to remember more often.
